The 1883 Snooks Covered Bridge is a historic wooden covered bridge located in East St. Clair Township in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. It is a 75-foot-long (23 m), Burr truss bridge with a shallow gable roof crossing Dunning Creek. It is one of four covered bridges crossing Dunning Creek and one of fifteen historic covered bridges in Bedford County.
The bridge takes its name from Jacob Snooks who once lived near the bridge. This 14-foot-wide, single-span, Burr truss bridge has vertical planks covering the bottom two-thirds to protect the structure from the elements. Like most Bedford County’s covered bridges, it is painted white and was restored in 1994. Snook’s Bridge is owned by the county.
Snook’s Covered Bridge is located in a beautiful part of the county’s farmlands and is open to traffic.
Snook’s Bridge was placed on the National Historic Register in 1980.
