It is an 81.66-foot-long, Burr Truss arch bridge with a tarred metal roof constructed in 1875. It crosses Green Creek, which is a tributary that flows into Fishing Creek. It is one of 28 historic covered bridges in Columbia and Montour Counties.
This bridge, constructed by Frank Deer, cost $804.00. It was named after Patterson's sawmill, which was located nearby. The County owns and maintains this structure. The bridge has gone through a major refurbishment in 2006; it now stands out as one of Columbia County's finest covered bridges.
