    The 1879 New Baltimore Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge in Allegheny Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The bridge spans the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River.

     

    The Multiple kingpost bridge was built in 1879 and is one of 10 covered bridges in Somerset County.  It is in good condition and is frequently used by vehicular traffic. The bridge is located in New Baltimore, Pa., on Township Route 812. Somerset County owns and maintains this bridge.

     

    Of the 1,500 covered bridges that once stood in the state of Pennsylvania, as of 2019, approximately 200 remain.

     

    Length of largest span:  74.2 feet
    Total length:  86 feet
    Deck width:  11.5 feet
