The Ebenezer Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Neither the year this small bridge was built nor the builder is known. Destined for demolition to make way for a new modern highway, Washington County purchased this old dilapidated bridge for one dollar and it was moved to its current location in Mingo Creek Park in 1977. Alterations were made to the bridge to incorporate it into the landscape, including the extensions of the approach that resemble an old style train caboose.
Ebenezer Bridge is one of the most popular covered bridges in Washington County today. The bridge originally crossed the south fork of Maple Creek near Ginger Hill, before placing it on the abutments of an earlier bridge in Mingo Creek Park. 32 feet long and 15 feet wide, this Queenpost bridge is covered with vertical board sides and has a sheet metal roof with a deck of crosswise planking, and two windows on each side. The deck was reinforced with five "I" beams. Also known as the Ebenezer Church Covered Bridge, painted red, it has a 10-ton weight limit. Part of the popularity of the Ebenezer Bridge is its location in Mingo Creek County Park and its participation in the yearly Covered Bridge Festival held there.
It was designated as a historic bridge by the Washington County History & Landmarks Foundation.
