The 1930 Horse Creek Covered Bridge originally spanned Horse Creek in the vicinity of McKenzie Bridge in Lane County. This 110-foot bridge originated in Lane County, where it spanned the McKenzie River. Closed to crossing since 1968, it was removed in December 1987 but found a new life in 1990 when it was disassembled and relocated to its current site in Myrtle Creek's Millsite Park in Douglas County, where it is used as a footbridge.

The bridge's wooden timbers were given to the City of Cottage Grove for salvage. Cottage Grove used some of the timbers to construct a small-scale covered bridge in their park. The remaining lumber was donated to the City of Myrtle Creek in the spring of 1990. The rescued structure now spans the stream of Myrtle Creek, providing access from a parking area into the Mill Site Park in downtown Myrtle Creek.

The area around the bridge was first visited by settlers and gold seekers in the 1840s, and was originally plotted by 1893. From its founding to the present day, the area's greatest wealth has been its forests, which continue to provide rich harvests. At the timber industry's height, following World War II, 278 mills were operating in the county.

Prior to removal, Horse Creek Bridge was listed on the National Historic Register in 1979.
