The R.F. Baker Covered Bridge, also known as the Winegardner Bridge, is an 80-foot-long Multi-Kingpost through truss that was built in 1871 by James Arnold to span Little Rush Creek at Drum Bottom Road near Winegardner Mill. Rush Creek Lake inundated its original location, and the bridge had to be rescued. It was removed and reconstructed over a small lake on the grounds of Fairfield Union High School in 1981 and has since been used as a special student project to protect it. The bridge, now halfway through its second century of use, is open to pedestrian traffic only, sitting peacefully behind the school facilities.

Sitting well behind a high school at the edge of the woods, it's kind of far from the nearest parking lot in the pouring rain. Thankfully, inside the bridge was warm and dry.

Dimensions:  Span length: 66 feet;  Total length: 66 feet
