Roddy Road - 1856
The 1856 Roddy Road Covered Bridge is a small, one-lane King Post wooden covered bridge crossing Owens Creek near Thurmont, Frederick County, Maryland. It is 40 feet long, 16 feet wide, and with a 12-foot-8-inch clearance. The smallest of the county's covered bridges, Roddy Road is a single-span Kingpost design bridge. The bridge was rehabilitated in 1995.
After it was damaged by an oversized truck in 2016, a replacement was built that includes warning bars on either side of the bridge to reduce the chance of a repeat event.
Length of largest span: 38.1 ft.
Total length: 39 ft.
Deck width: 12.8 ft.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
